Rodley Village and Primary School, Leeds, UK

By Samantha Jane Turner, year 5, Rodley Primary School, Leeds, UK

My name is Samantha Jane Turner. I am ten years old and live in Rodley, on a street called Rodley Lane, with my mother, father, my sister Sarah (5) and my brother Robert (9). We all go to Rodley Primary School. I am in Year 5 and my class teacher is Mrs. Blackford. Rodley Primary School is small with only 98 children. There are three buildings and the school is over 100 years old. In one building are the 5 to 7 year olds, the school office and the library. In another building are the 8 to I I year olds. The third building is for physical education, singing and school lunches. Some children stay for cooked school lunches and some bring packed lunches. I have packed lunches.
Rodley is a village on the edge of Leeds, at the side of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. Leeds is a large city in West Yorkshire. In Leeds is a street with the Old Norse name 'Kirkgate' and a church where some of my ancestors were baptised and married long ago.
