It has been mentioned that Charles XII crossed the ice from Svindal to Årnes in Rælingen with his soldiers in March 1716, but the court registers suggest that this was not the case. After the war peasants came to the courthouse to demand compensation for damages they had suffered when the king marched in to Oslo.

Jølsen courtroom October 3rd 1716. The jurors were:
| Tarald Westegård | Ole Nordby |
| Even Vilberg | Christoffer Støvi |
| Hans Ånerud | Ole Berger |

The commoners maintained that the enemy marched to and fro in the township and have been with the following who have suffered damages:
Tosten Midtskog has sufferd damages for 12 Riks dollars.
Trond Skjatvet 12 rd.
Christen Skjatvet 32 rd.
Trond Ånerud 12 rd.
Hans Ånerud 5 rd.
Nils Sofsrud 6 rd.
Lucas Kind 16 rd.
Jan Svindal 80 rd.
Ole Søndre Svindal where they burned the farm and took all the hay
and grain in addition to everything he owned so that he must place the damages
at at least 300 Riks dollars. Ole Vestre Svindal 60 rd.
Knut Råsåk 40 rd.
Halvor Løken 16 rd.
Peder Løken 16 rd.

From here they must have taken the road over Åkrene and Tuen to Rælingen because no damages are mentioned until we get Gunder Vestersund.
