Diana Cosby

I am 37 and a retired Meteorologist. My husband Robert is also a Meteorologist and we have 3 children, Eric - 7, Stephanie-6 and Christopher-4. My father and I both joined and are retired from the United States Navy. This accounts for the many times that I have moved in my life, 30 total, and my current residence, Virginia.

I have either visited or lived in many countries, these include Korea, Japan, Philippines, Mexico, Canada, Spain, France, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria and Italy. I have been to about ½ of the individual states within the United States and have lived in Alaska, Hawaii, Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island, New York and Virginia. My family will move to Texas in 10 years as that is where we plan to finally settle down.

I have many hobbies which include fishing, hunting, camping, racquetball, baking, needlepoint, and painting. I also volunteer for the Make-A-Wish Foundation which tries to fulfill wishes of terminally ill children and at my children’s school.

Having experienced many different life styles and cultures, I find most topics of some interest and never hesitate to learn something new. I am currently writing a novel about Vikings and in doing so came across the Viking Network and met Mr. Wigo Skråmm and his wonderful wife Tove. He allowed me to do this article on Weather and how it may have affected the Vikings and put it on the Viking Network. I am very grateful as I love to work with children of any age and cannot find enough to do for them. I hold them all very close to my heart.
