The Cathedral of Trondheim

by Magnus Skogestad & Magnus Sarheim

The Cathedral of Trondheim is both a national shrine and a national monument in Norway. It's a great tourist attraction in Trondheim. It's the largest medieval building in Scandinavia, 102 meter long. With its 28 alters it was finished in 1320. The first fire was in 1328, and the fifth and the last one was in 1719. The restored cathedral is beautifully situated among its churchyard trees at the end of Munkegaten, a very central location. The rose window in the West Front is composed of more then 10 000 pieces of coloured glass. Right now they're building a archbishopyard.
