"Having got rid of Sweden, Norway has now to consider what form of government she will live under in the future. A large body of public opinion in the country, it appears, demands another plebiscite on the question - Monarchy or Republic. It is hardly likely, in case such a plebiscite took place, that the voting would be so overwhelming on one side as on the question of separation, for though the Norwegians are naturally inclined to be Republicans, they are not very decisively anti-Monarchist, like the Americans and the Swiss. In case they decide to have a King, he will very likely be a Danish prince. The Kaiser is said to favour the suit of Prince Waldemar of Denmark. It is said that he entertains an admiration for the Princess Waldemar - an Orleans Princess, who is possessed of French wit and charm in full measure. The Danes like Princess Waldemar, but they think her rather eccentric - and she is a Roman Catholic. The other candidates for the throne are Prince Karl of, one of the best looking of European Princes, and Prince Charles of Denmark"
