Christiania, Thursday, June 8
Following upon yesterday’s deposition of King Oscar and the dissolution of the union with Sweden, the Norwegian National Defence Committee has decided that the union emblem shall be deleted from the war flag.
The now Norweigan standard will be formally unfurled on ships and fortresses with military honours.
The Storthing (Parliament) before sending the address to the King adopted yesterday, announcing his deposition and the dissolution of the Union with Sweden, asked King Oscar if he would receive a deputation appointed to hand the address to him.
The King telegraphed in reply:
"As I do not recognise the revolutionary step which I regret the Storthing, in violation of the fundamental law and the Act of Union, and in revolt against its King, has taken, I will not received the deputation."
From every town and district in the country addresses are pouring in to the Storthing expressing confidence in its action.
All the Norwegian members of the Joint Foreign Service of Sweden and Norway have resigned.

Copenhagen, Thursday, June 8
The Crown Prince of Sweden arrived here to-night from Berlin, and was receive by the Crown Prince of Denmark. Both drove to the ferry, by which the former crossed over to Malmö, in Swedish territory; he will reach Stockholm early to-morrow.
The Swedish Prince looked very nervous. On his arrival the crowds outside the station received him in silence.
It is reported that a Norwegian deputation will arrive in Copenhagen next week to offer the crown of Norway to the Danish Prince Valdemar.
