The Storthing to-day voted 700,000 kroner (about £40,000) as the Civil List for the King and Queen. This grant is to be given annually during the King’s lifetime, whereas during the Union with Sweden the Civil List was settled every year, and was sometimes diminished.

The King’s election will take place on Saturday. The Te Deum will be sung in all the churches of Norway on December 7.
